I don't see motion smoothing anywhere else and googling the issue off-and-on over the past month or so I have just come to the conclusion that it is particular to the channel (H&I, or just our local affiliate, send everything out locked to 4:3 aspect ratio or something, I have to override the normal settings on that channel when I watch it to stretch, smoothing is noticeable when it's stretched and when it's pillarboxed) and particular to this season of "Killing Eve" (I'm not the only one noticing it, some have suggested the lighting is different this year, or maybe it's something else, but the first two seasons weren't this way, and I did actually re-watch (or at least ffwd through and stop occasionally) some of the previous episodes of one and two and there is no weird motion-smoothing on those. One of the local sub-channels in town broadcasts the "H&I" network, and I do watch House occasionally on it, and the smoothing is awful. In general I see no soap opera effect, but I do see it in two specific instances, which I've been kind of trying to track down a solution for: Do you notice the soap opera effect all the time or just during certain programming? I just ask because I have the same TV, and do not have the motion smoothing settings anywhere (neither on the set itself nor the app).
